Quarantine Centre Licence

Introduction

To establish a quarantine centre for animals, you must apply for a Licence for Quarantine Centres issued by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD).

According to Environmental Impact Assessment Ordinance (Cap. 499), a quarantine station for animals is classified as designated project requiring an Environmental Permit (Cap.499, N.2 of Schedule 2).  No person shall construct or operate a designated project unless an Environmental Permit has been issued.  For details, please contact Environmental Impact Assessment Ordinance Register Office at 2835 1835 or Email Address: reo@epd.gov.hk.

Application will not be accepted by AFCD unless all the relevant legal duties have been fully complied with.

  • To apply for a licence, please contact us at 2150 7055 or e-mail to mailbox@afcd.gov.hk for more information.
  • The applicant should provide adequate information of his/her personal particulars, the animals to be kept for quarantine purpose, and the correct address of the place where business is to be conducted.

Ordinance related to Quarantine Centres

The Rabies Regulation, Cap. 421A, regulates all persons who maintain a quarantine centre.

If you maintain a quarantine centre, you must apply for a Quarantine Centre Licence issued by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD).
